Version 6.9 has seroius bug killing the battery

I have the va3 for a long time . never seen such a massive battery drain after software upgrade.the watch dies within less than 24 hours even without any activity. This is totally unacceptable. The watch is almost worthless now. I cannot accept having to plug the watch to a power source twice a day. If garmin cannot fully test a new version before release, at least they should allow the user to choose whether to upgrade. Or at least correct the bug within days. It has been almost 3 weeks since the upgrade.

  • I’m having the same issue. It just started last week . The first couple of weeks after the last update it was ok

Stop buying  Garmin  devices unless your prepared to accept forced and poorly tested updates.

  • What’s the alternative. I found Fitbit had the same sort of issues with their watches

Additional info that hopefully will assist garmin in resolving this issue. I have noticed that during activity that uses gps the battery drain is not higher than it used to be during such activity before the upgrade to 6.9. Therefore i think that the excessive battery drain in idle is because the gps is continiously on. I have done a full reset of the watch. Did not help. Maybe the issue has to do with incompatible software pachages . so i am listing here all the software packages on my watch

    The main spftware is 6.9

    Gps version is 2.5

    Tsc version is 2.1

    Sensor version is 6.4

    Whr version 20.03.31

    Connect iq 3.1.3

    Please fix this problem ASAP

This is what I usually get from my one year old watch.

    Notifications on.

    Heartrate on.

Watchface "NoFrills".
