I'm pretty sure this notification functionality has changed. I thought that in prior firmware it just show any new incoming messages, rather than every one you've recently had. If you don't manage to catch the first one that appears, then you miss the new details and have to manually check on the watch or phone.
Was I right about previous versions of firmware just showing only the new message?
