Stress Score

So the main reason I jumped on this watch was the Stress Score ( HRV ) because I believe that stress has a huge effect on training and more importantly recovery. With all that said. I am not sure I understand how it works on the VA3

On days where I am at my home office all day and sitting at my desk, I get up for quick walks, laundry etc. I am scoring a stress level of like 70. Even when I score a 50 it says I had too much stress in the day. Believe me I know when I am stressed, these days at home are the most relaxing times so I am not sure how Garmin is calculating this

Any Input?
  • This was a feature I was really looking forward to as well, and I'm not quite sure how to take it either.

All I know is that my graphs look nothing like the ones that DCRainmaker showed in his review of the first device that had it. His made sense because there where times during the day where it would show times where it was blue and other smaller peaks where it got into the orange/red before dropping back down. I only get blue during the day if I take a nap although most of the time when I look at the previous day in GCM it will tell me I had enough restful moments. Not sure what to make of that.

However I'm not fretting too much about it at this point because I bought this watch while in the closing stages of marathon training so it might just be showing me that I'm indeed that "stressed" in HRV terms. I'll have to see what the results are like during taper and recovery phases of this training cycle. It might jut be telling me that I am in an overreaching phase that will calm down as my training load goes down.

Here is what my score looks like from yesterday. Which was by far no where near a stressful dayciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1258813.png
  • A lot of unmeasureable areas in that chart. Maybe a fit issue?

Here's mine from Saturday which had no workouts and a good nap where the unmeasureable space is.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1258844.png
  • I don't know if it is a function of the firmware update or the fact that I've gone into taper, since they coincided, but I'm getting much more reasonable Stress Scores the last several days.
