pairing watch to 2 devices (phone and tablet)

After reading about people's troubles pairing, I almost feel guilty asking this. Can you pair your watch(a vivoactive 3) to 2 devices? I think the answer may be no and is likely obvious to those who understand bluetooth technology. But if possible, I would like to pair my watch to both my phone (to get notifications) and my tablet (better screen for making adjustments to look and abilities of the watch)
  • That's what I do with my 920XT. I pair to my Galaxy S9 and my iPad, but not at the same time. With GCM installed on each device, I turn off BT on my phone if I want to use the iPad, then reverse it when done.
  • Thank you so much! I think GCM means google cloud messaging but both my phone and tablet are android so for me, it was as simple as turning off the bluetooth on the phone so the tablet could re-pair. If someone is trying it for the first time, you might need to remove the watch from Garmin connect on the first device you paired the watch to so the watch won't say it is already paired and refuse to give you the code to enter into the other device. Once the second device is paired, you can turn off bluetooth on the second device which should let you re-pair to the first device
  • GCM is Garmin Connect Mobile.
