Maps and turn by turn are not natively supported in the Vivo range BUT there are some excellent IQ apps which can be used for that purpose. Keep in mind that the Vivo series does not store map on the watch (for this you need to look at the Fenix 5+ range).
The ones I use on my VA3m: dwMap: https://apps.garmin.com/en-GB/apps/2750f280-82f4-4f21-a32c-57acc7ce4870 You can create routes online and send them to your watch. it will then give you turn by turn direction for your route. Once loaded on the watch, this can be used offline The premium version enables you to send the map background to your watch (from your phone, ie phone need to be connected to the internet to see the map on the watch) The premium version also gives you access to a phone companion app where you can edit your route on your phone (rather than online) and send them to your watch directly. If used offline, then no map background but still direction and path tracking. It will vibrate when you get close to a WayPoint and tells you which direction to turn and how far you are from it. There is a simple configurable data filed to track data.
Another excellent one: BF Hiker https://apps.garmin.com/en-GB/apps/96be8cd0-9c83-4cfa-a2a0-9cb1ea2ceda8 Same as above, more hike focus with plenty of data fields and graph (elevation, breadcrumbs, etc). You can also create route online and send them to the watch for offline use. No map background support, but excellent turn by turn direction as well.
I use both depending on what I am doing. Well worth supporting the developer with a donation as both apps are great.
