Vivoactive 3 - loads of issues

Hello all, I recently purchased a Vivoactive 3. I am very disappointed with its performance. I have the latest firmware, SW version 5.20 Issues are:

1) The optical heart rate is extremely inaccurate during indoor cycling and will often drop down to 30bpm from 160bpm and take several minutes to get back up to accuracy. I have tried all the measures in the garmin guides and have the latest firmware. I have even tried wearing the watch on the underside of my wrist but it is no better.

2) External ANT+ heart rate: I have tried to connect my external heart rate monitor however it randomly disconnects and connects constantly as I am doing a work out. My Garmin 510 or 520 bike head unit never drop out during the same workout. It happens 20 to 30 times a workout over an hour period and is very annoying as it vibrates and the heart rate drops to nothing. I have tried switching off the optical heart rate whilst using the external one but it makes no difference.

3) The latest version of the software has removed the manual calibration of the altimeter. This sensor is extremely inaccurate. I am currently sat on the 9th floor of our office in Perth Australia. I can see sea level and it is over 9 floors down. My altimeter shows -16.8m currently.

Anyone else getting these same issues and does anyone know any fixes. For me, the watch isn't doing what it's supposed to do and is faulty.

Cheers,
Stuart

I started having the same heart rate issue after the 5.20 release. There’s another thread about it with people complaining of the same thing.
