Weather Widget not working after new Connect version

I updated the Connect version on my phone and it seems to have broken the Weather Widget.
  • my widget looks ok...on connect v4.2.
try removing the widget then adding it back again.

I'm having issues as well. Can't even see widgets in app to uninstall and reinstall. Also having issues again with notifications.
It would be nice to have an update that doesn't break a bunch of things.
  • Same issue here after the update. It seems to disappear a lot. Hopefully they get a fix soon.
  • try starting an activity that uses GPS and wait for "green". This has helped before with the weather widget on Garmin watches with GPS.

Good thought - Tried that with no luck :(
  • jim_m_58 , are you suggesting it's my watch's way of telling me i am lazy and I need to go for a run more often? :-)
Unfortunately, I have tried that and it didn't help.

My widget app was stuck on last Saturday's weather.
I tried many things, and the only thing that finally worked was to force stop the Connect app (on Android phone), and then restarting and re-synching.

Simply being too far from the watch to break the Bluetooth connection did not force the sync to refresh the weather data, but the force stop of the Connect app worked.

    I hope this helps others.

  • After Removing and Re-adding the weather widget the issue is no longer happening.
  • Mine is no longer updating. Removing the widget, breaking the BT connection, closing the Connect app, starting a GPS app, nothing work. The only thing that worked was rebooting the phone, but it hasn't updated since then. I'm out of ideas :-(

Same thing is happening with my 935. On that forum, Garmin has acknowledged the problem with the last GCM update (at least for my Android) and they're currently working on it. Some have had a temporary fix by getting a new GPS acquisition, but eventually it will fail again.

Well, turning starting an activity and waiting for GPS to be green did the trick.
