Inaccurate lap totals

I have used it 4 times for swimming laps and the totals are not correct. The graphs on the Connect app show data for me swimming and then there will occur a length with no data and then it will go back to displaying the data. I'll swim 70 lengths, but the watch thinks I have only done 63. You can edit the data after the swim to enter the laps, but that only corrects the total yards and not the swolf or pace. The total number of strokes and the average strokes per length seem correct. I am trying to be consistent in my push off the wall, thinking that is the key to initiating laps, but that doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestions?
  • A firm push off certainly is a start. But make sure you glide a bit, and ideally take the first stroke with the non-watch arm (switch watch side if necessary). When finishing a set, make sure you touch the wall as if finishing a race (don't glide in). I get 100% accuracy unless I slow down or speed up (due to other swimmers) or change strokes mid-length. These conditions create extra laps rather than missing ones.

Did another swim today before I read your post. Swam 62 lengths but watch only recorded 43. Battery went from 84% to 70% after only 26 minutes. That is worse than battery use when doing activities that require the GPS. Have you noticed a similar excessive battery drain?
  • Try rebooting to clear any unwanted processes running in the background. But besides GPS, the the other big battery drainer is the backlight. Turn off or set brightness to zero.
