Bug? - Watch activity data reset to 0 when phone restart (as if it was midnight!)

Hi All
I love my VA3, so far, very happy with it.
I may have found a strange bug!
(I am running the latest firmwares (2.6 and 5.10, etc) and running Android 8.0 (Oreo) on my phone (Xperia XZ Premium)).

When: When my phone restart
What:
- All my activities (step, floor, calories, stress, etc) data on my VA3 reset to 0!
- The VA3 doesn't add the "new" steps or data to the existing ones via the connect app if the VA data is lower than the currently recorded ones on the connect app (steps: VA3 = 200, Connect app = 7000, connect app steps won't move anymore, until VA3 > 7000?)
- This seems to only impact the activity tracking data. (my "real-time" HR is still sent and shown on the Connect app, even after the VA3 reset the data to 0.
- When the activity data reset to 0, the VA3 does NOT restart (no off and on), but simply displays all the tracking data to 0, as if it was midnight!
- The next day, all is back to normal, the VA3 sync properly and as expected with the connect app, etc.

One day, I was near my walking and stairs goals and my phone restarted (battery). I was sitting at my desk for some time (move bar on was on 3/4) and got a vibration and message that the move bar has been cleared (didn't move). I checked my watch and all my activity data (steps, floors, calories etc) were back to 0!

Another time, I passed my goal and the next time my phone restarted, my VA3 data when back to 0 and didn't add to the existing in the connect app...

I can reproduce this everytime! and try not to restart my phone to the risk of losing whatever data was not tracked.

I am not sure if this is due to Oreo, or my phone etc, as I was already running Oreo when I got my VA3.

Anyone else experiences this?
  • This happens to me too if I do a hard reset (press button and hold for 15 seconds). I've done that a couple of times to check if it fixes other issues and it reset my steps and other data. Haven't tried with soft power off from the controls screen.
