Another issue that started after the software update. If I try to go into the alarm settings to change or add an alarm, the screen freezes and I have to completely do a forced restart. Anyone else having this issue? If I set up an alarm through Connect it doesn't work either. Shows alarm is set but does not go off.
huh - I have the exact same issue also! I noticed my problem began when I tried to sync (or send) an alarm from the GCM app (I'm on iOS) to the watch - that somehow jacked me up when I tried it, and now any time I attempt to access the alarm function on the watch - instant freeze up just like stated at the top. Exactly the same. I actually came to this forum to find that link or info on how to report things to Garmin and I saw this post - how ironic. I'll try and report it...
I can confirm too. Created an alarm on the watch with no issue. Then modified the alarm on my Pixel XL (Oreo) and re-sync'd. When I accessed ALARM under CLOCK SETTINGS, the watch locked up. Rebooted and it recurs.
EDIT: it won't stop locking up... I better set an independent alarm clock until 2.6.
I had this same issue on mine. I ended up exchanging it for another VA3, which has not had any other problems. I can't say if FW2.5 caused it, because I hadn't tried to set an alarm from the watch prior to 2.5. Also, I heard that after applying the 2.5 update, do a complet power off/on, which may resolve some issues.
I had this same exact issue last night. I did a hard reset restart on the watch twice an it was still happening. Then I set an alarm through the GC software and it worked perfectly. No lockups no nothing. very strange
Just an update here - I reported this to Garmin Support and it's evidently a known issue - see below response from them. I'd expect to see resolution in next firmware update. Hopefully.
