Has gesture sensitivity changed with recent updates ? Not working now

I have a video showing my watchface returning from low power mode reliably works 90% of the time from a few months ago

Now (as of this week) it is not working at all. I have tried this with a watchface I wrote - and I know there are no code changes there. Also a problem with other watchfaces as well

I lift my wrist and the low power mode is still displayed - no matter how much I flick my wrist

sensitivity is still set to high- but seems to have no effect

version 5.10 Change log says

“Fixed gesture handling for CIQ watch faces“

Well it didn’t (and seems to have made it worce)

Weirdly today it seems to be working again after not working at all yesterday. I have no idea what’s changed apart from being put into charge last night.
