Bluetooth Connectivity to Mobile - Venu

Former Member

Hi Folks,

I'm a new Garmin user. Bluetooth connectivity to my mobile constantly getting disconnected though my phone was in close vicinity.

Also, shouldn't the Venu auto detect my phone for pairing or should I change some settings to enable this function?

Responses will be greatly appreciated

Cheers,

  • Garmin have released a guide to help people with issues after upgrading to iOS 13 (if thats what you are using) - https://support.garmin.com/en-AU/?faq=oMQAW20SpY06UD0itn27o7&utm_source=garmin_US&utm_medium=regEmail&utm_campaign=IOS%2013%20Update,%20Connect%20Issue,%20en_AU

Otherwise, you'd be best to contact support.

I haven't experienced constant disconnects, it would disconnect maybe every now and then but only when I moved away from my phone. With this I mean that I left my phone somewhere and moved 4 to 5 meters away.

And even then, it will automatically reconnect when I move closer to my phone.

How close is 'close vicinity' for you?

  • ahhh sorry cant help you out. I actually just moved from an S10+ to an iPhone due to all the issues I was having with my Samsung phone (my wife tells me it's just me though haha).

My only other thought would be to remove the watch from the phone altogether (in bluetooth), do a reset on the watch and then set it all up again. The S10 definitely shouldn't have any issues though, I have a VA3m and a FR245 working flawlessly on my S10

    Good luck

Thanks Sketchy - I'm not aware of this 5 meters limitations, the disconnect usually happens within 10 meter circle. Maybe I'm pushing it too far though but I had to unpair/pair (with numerical code) the venu in my Bluetooth list every time to get it reconnected. shouldn't this automatically happen when you add Venu as a trusted device in your mobile.

Thanks ash_D - I will do a reset and check to see to see if it happens again or I will have to for the contact support for this issue.

    Cheers

Did you end up figuring out the issue or did you exchange it? I just got mine and having the same issue.

i have just bought a venu and also have the same problem.  I have spoken to Garmin support twice but neither suggestion worked. Any ideas?

  • Having the same problem. This is my second Venu, as the first was replaced by Garmin. Wondering whether I should contact Garmin again. It’s absolutely unusable for notifications. Sometimes it will reconnect and connect several times even when he phone is close. It ends up disconnecting and I have to manually connect it from phone. Total trash.

  • I was hoping the new software 4.9 would have solved this, but unfortunately not. Reconnection still doesn’t work. Bluetooth reconnects if only short period e.g. less than couple minutes out of reach, but if longer than that then no reconnection.
