Fitness Age says 0 days per week of vigorous activity

I think other Venu users are having this issue too but this is specifically with IOS app and my Venu SQ.  It tells me to increase my fitness age I should “Increase Vigorous Minute” average from 60 minutes a week to 75.  That makes sense.  But right underneath that it shows to “Increase Vigorous Days” and shows my 4 week average is 0 days per week when I am getting 20-30 minutes vigorous activity 3 x a week on the elliptical (which it is using in the aforementioned “Increase Vigorous Minutes” per week.

So it shows how many vigorous minutes I’m getting and then right below that shows I have 0 days.  When I tap on this item it says to get at least 5 minutes of continuous vigorous intensity minutes.  I am getting that easily when I look at my elliptical summary.

Anyone else see the same inconsistency?

  • Hello all:

I have noticed a couple threads that seem to mention that users feel that activities with a similar heart rate level of just generally similar activities are now awarding fewer vigorous activity minutes in the last 1-2 months.  I’d like to get some more information on what you’re seeing please.

So that I may assist you further, please reply with the following:

    1. May we, if necessary, have permission to email you?
    2. May we, if necessary, have permission to view/access your Garmin Connect account?
    3. In what country do you live?
    4. Please provide screenshots supporting a before and after of more vigorous minutes being awarded previously and fewer vigorous minutes being awarded recently.
  • Hi, I’m getting rewarded the vigorous minutes, they are just not being recognized partially by the fitness age metric.  It sees I am getting about 60 vigorous minutes a week but then tells me my 4 week average of vigorous days are 0 but they are actually 3.

    Yes, Yes and US

  • Thank you .  Please provide some screenshots of what you are seeing.  Once I see those, I can look into your account and reach out to you via email.

  • Thank you .  I looked into your activities where you have earned vigorous intensity minutes.  Please note that the requirement for a vigorous day is 5 minutes of continuous vigorous intensity minutes.

While looking at your activities, I noticed that, quite often your heart rate fluctuates between the moderate and vigorous ranges about every 4 minutes.  I suspect that this is the reason why your 4-week average of vigorous days is 0.  Additionally, I looked over the tally of your vigorous minutes for the last 4 weeks and 55 does seem nearly correct, I actually calculated 52.

I am submitting this information for a closer look, but it looks like everything is correct, as far as I can tell.

  • Interesting, ok thanks for looking!  Yes, the first number seemed correct, just was confused how the vigorous days could be 0 when I get 3 days a week of vigorous activity.

  • You should now be seeing a more accurate figure for the # of vigorous days when viewing your Fitness Age!  If you see any further issues, please start a new thread.
