Loss of phone Connection Voice Assistant not Working

Phone says connected to watch in Bluetooth settings on my iPhone 14 Pro but when I press the middle button to activate Siri, Nothing. I am unable to use the voice assistant, accept calls, yet the watch will say ‘missed call. I am quite sure everything is setup n my phone and watch as it worked before the update.

’ Any suggestions?

    • What is the software version on your watch? 7.07
    • What happens on the watch when you try to activate voice assistant? "No Phone Connection"
    • May we email you? Yes
    • What country are you located in? UK
    • iPhone 11, iOS 17.0.3 - trying to access Siri via Voice Assistant.app
  • I have possibly fixed (temporarily) my Siri connection from my Venu 3. I removed the Venu 3 from the Garmin Connect App (GCA), logged out of GCA, logged back into GCA, added my Venu 3 again and everything seems to be working. Hopefully, this could help others..... Let's hope it is not a temporary fix.

  • The same "fix" worked for me too (remove Venu 3 from GCA, log out/in from GCA, add back the Venu 3), and *almost* everything works...  The Voice Assistant will connect as long as the phone and watch are physically close together. I lose connectivity if I leave my phone in another room. My original Venu was able to maintain a connection in that instance. The Voice Assistant is intermittent when I'm on my bike, where the phone is also connected to my bike computer, gear system and lights.

The bigger issue I have is that while I can answer a phone call on the watch, I can't maintain a conversation. Regardless of whether I'm answering or initialing a call, after a few seconds, the audio (both mic and speaker) switches back to the phone. Very frustrating. I'm hoping for a firmware update.

  • Right now Venu 2 Plus isn't working either.

  • I'm having the same problem connecting my venue 3 to my pixel 8 Pro phone. I disconnected it from Garmin Connect and the phone repared it and got it working temporarily for about 5 minutes and then it stopped again. I never had this problem with my venu 2 plus.

  • Just did an update, and now it's working again we'll see for how long.

  • An update of what exactly? thanks!

  • D2 Air 10 here which is the same hardware as Venu 2 Plus. No voice assistant working (tried on 2 Android phones of which one used to work with and one never worked with: Razr and Edge 2022). Subsequently, calls won't be routed through the mic/speaker on the phone so both are useless since they don't work. I was on the phone for an hour with one of Garmin tech who tested same hardware in his end with his Pixel 8 pro and advised to be working but now seeing all three reports, I'm in doubt.

  • Hi, I just bought my venu 3 today and i have the same issue. Cannot use it for calling, the audio switches to phone, i manually switch it to watch from phone bluetooth icon during call, and it switched back to phone.
7 hours with the watch and i already hate it.
Also, in bluetooth connection, in phone, it appears with headset icon and not with watch icon.
My wife's venu 3 works perfectly during calls from day1 and also appears as watch under bluetooth connection.
*** watch for 500 dollars if you ask me
I don't even want to mention the mushy buttons......

  • SW version 7.07
