Venu 2 heart rate BPM way too low during intensive exercise.

Venu 2 HR monitor is way too low during intensive exercise. As an indoor cycling instructor my HR average for a 45 mins class using my Fitbit would be around 140bpm, with peaks at 160bpm plus, but having switched to Garmin Venu 2 it only shows average of 90bpm with peaks of 105bpm.

I don't set the activity before riding as I expected the sensor to simply record HR without having to set the activity to Indoor Bike. I have a HR strap I can use with the Venu 2 but has anyone else had accuracy issues when working out?

  • Even so, the watch HR should not jump from 70-80 BPM to 170 BPM the second I turn on Broadcast. Nor should it decrease frrom 140 to 55 the second I turn off Broadcast. That is software nonsense happening.

  • Venu 2 is discontinued. When a device reach end of life, all software bugs are closed as "won't fix"

I tested the HR broadcast feature numerous times and concluded that it's an epic failure by Garmin. I've been using chest strap for over a decade without any issues.

  • The HR "bug" has been going on for years. Never fixed. But sure, some people say the fix is to workaround it by adding more hardware. Point is that the watch was sold, and bought thinking it was at least going to work as advertised, and if not there would be software releases to fix problems that users find, because Garmin software Q&A does not exist.
