[Idea] Live track via SMS?

Live track is a great idea and works fine.

But I think about a small improvement: could it be SMS instead of e-mail to send to our recipients? I mean SMS with alink like in e-mail?
Great thing is, that Garmin service sends an e-mail itself, personally I don't have any e-mail account configured in phone, but SMS could be sent via our phones.

What do you think? Would be simple, or, even better, we could choose in Garmin Connect Mobile whether to send SMS or e-mail Smile

  • It should be no problem to include this in Garmin Connect Mobile, at least for Android. After installation you user allows app to access to contacts, phone, etc, It would be great to have choice to send LiveTrack link via e-mail or SMS. It's easier for recipient to click on link than first to check e-mail and next to click link.

Most (if not all) SMS numbers have an equivalent email.  For example, for AT&T phones, the email is "phonenumber"@txt.att.net.  Just use that instead of the person's real email id.  Their service provider will then send them an SMS.

In Europe, Poland, it's no provider with such feature.
