Scales won’t detect more than 1 person who weigh similar !!!!

Hi, got a set of these scales last month. Issue is that I weigh 71kg and the wife 65kg. I set the scales up and invited her, which works fine. But when she steps on, it lets her chose me or a question mark. If I scroll through the names it won’t let me pick her. It’s as if the scales are certain it’s me every time.

if I set her up and bit a 30kg weight on, it works fine each time I put25-35kg on.

it’s like anything under a 10kg difference it can’t handle.

I have a Nokia withings scale. Like the Index scale, it guesses who is in the scale based on the weight. Sometimes it is even confused if I step on it after a huge meal. Are you not able to tell the device who is on the scale during the weigh-in process?

You can only scroll through both users if one of us weighs a lot different to the other

if we are 65/71kg per person, it won’t scroll to the other use - only 1 user and guest

ive tried this by using a 35kg weight for my wife and using it as myself.

Searching the forums, I see where you are not alone. Not sure if there is a way to force you to choose a user each time. In withings I'm able to go into the site and edit any errant readings, but I'm the only one that uses it. If not solvable, then yes, might need to take it back, or get a 2nd scale.

Cheers for your help - i can edit my own weights later, but the main issue is as soon as the wife steps on, she over writes my data (as she uses them an hour after me)

spending another £100 isn’t an option so I’m afraid they will be going back

Yeah, that's too bad. Maybe there's an answer hidden in the forums somewhere or someone that has actually worked through this issue can reply to this thread.

same here, the scale is 10 days old (new), some days is showing two users + guest some days only one user + guest. Frustrated with Garmin, I'm 14 days in to the switch form Fitbit, scale is useless no multiple users, Fenix 6 useless because of OHR issue.

On the other thread it is recommended to reset the scale to defaults, per Garmin support. Might be worth a try.

If still no joy, I would contact support for a warranty replacement or refund.
