Index Sleep Monitor no body battery data - workaround doesn’t solve the problem.

Hello,

I’ve been using the Index Sleep Monitor for a week now. Since the first night it hasn’t given me any body battery data. It measures everything else (sleep stages, heart rate, stress, etc).
During the day I wear my Tactix Delta. Once I put this on it starts to generate a Boft Battery value, but the data during the night stays blank.

I’ve followed the previous thread on this, which gave a workaround 2 days ago but this hasn’t solved the issue for me.

Could you please help me fix this?

  • I just tested from about 17:50 to 18:42 today, August 26, wearing only the ISM with the smartwatch powered off and following the instructions in the workaround. After syncing both the watch and ISM 4 times each, there is no body battery data displayed in the Connect app for that time period.

  •  , I'm missing the body battery data from the Garmin Connect App (Android), as well as the Garmin Connect website. Feel free to review my Garmin Connect data from the night of August 24-25 (screenshots also attached). I am getting sleep score, stress, HRV, heart rate, and all other data when I'm wearing the Index Sleep Monitor (with my Fenix 6 turned off), but no body battery.

  • I'm writing to report a recurring issue I've been experiencing with my Garmin Index Sleep Monitor (ISM) and its synchronization with the Garmin Connect app. My watch is a Garmin Fenix 6X and Gamin Connect on iOS (iPhone 16 Pro)

I have conducted a series of tests to help narrow down the problem, and here are the results:

    • Scenario 1: Wore ISM only (Fenix 6X turned off)

      • As suggested by a previous support agent , I wore only the ISM to bed and turned my Fenix 6X off.

      • In the morning, the Garmin Connect app showed my current Body Battery value. However, there was no Body Battery graph and no Body Battery Change value recorded for the duration of my sleep.

    • Scenario 2: Wore Fenix 6X only

      • I wore only my Fenix 6X to bed.

      • The Body Battery graph and 'Body Battery Change' data were recorded and displayed correctly in the Garmin Connect app.

      • As expected, I did not see data for Breathing Variation, Avg Skin Temp Change, or Sleep Coach, as these features are not supported on the Fenix 6X.

    • Scenario 3: Wore both Fenix 6X and ISM

      • I wore both devices to bed.

      • I found that all the data was recorded and synced properly. The app showed the Body Battery graph, Body Battery Change, Breathing Variation, Avg Skin Temp Change, and Sleep Coach.

This third scenario, while providing all the data, seems to defeat the purpose of the ISM, which is marketed as a comfortable alternative for sleep tracking. The issue appears to be that the ISM cannot fully sync the Body Battery graph data unless it is worn in conjunction with the watch.

I hope this detailed information is helpful for your team to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

  • Hi Garmin-Tracy,

I don’t have any overnight body battery data in the Garmin Connect App since wearing the ISM. During the day I use my Tactix Delta (which is not on the list). There is no overnight body battery data on the watch as well.

up till August 8th I wore my Tactix at night. Since August 9th till last night only the ISM at night and de Tactix during the day. You can ofcourse use this data for analysis.
