Vector 3 suddenly adds +/- 50W

My Vector 3 suddenly gave 50 Watt more average power on 2 almost identical trainings with less than a week between them. 1st training 149W, 2nd training 195W. All the other trainings were consistent around 140 - 150W on average. What could have happened? How do I know what is the correct measurement?

  • It would help to have more context to try to figure this out.

Is this on an outdoor ride, or on an indoor trainer?

Outdoors: Wind can make a large difference to the power required to do a given speed.

Indoors: If the trainer is controlled by a computer, then it could be that the trainer resistance setting is not always the same. Tire pressure plays a large role (for all wheel-on trainers).

For Vector 3 itself: What head unit (display) are you using? Do you do a static zero calibration at the start of each session?

Maybe you are just getting more fit?

  • This also happened to me...felt like superman...I fixed it by calibrating before any ride, indoor or outdoor.
