H contact (negative contact) on Vector 3 left pedal broken

Dear all,

I have just discovered today after some abnormal power data readings (TR workout where I was feeling I was pushing the target watts but I was getting a reading of only half of the power) that one of the pins of the H contact (negative contact) on the left pedal has broken. Did this happen to any of you? I contacted Garmin on [email protected]. I hope to get an answer and a fix to the problem quickly!

Here is a printscreen as well which highlighted the issue! As I thought the batteries were drained, I switched to the Tacx Neo Power meter on my smart trainer, reason why after the power data values resumed to the target values of the interval.

I would contact Garmin Support directly, they will be able to get you a new PCBA and door if you don't have the mark III door. The mark III door has gold contacts.

I sent yesterday afternoon am emailnto Garmin Germany, explaining them the issue. I could not upload any photo thoughy as the online web tool does not have an option to attach a file. I hope I get a quick answer frommthem and they send me the required bits. As to your questiony I do not have the battery doors mark III, as the doors have silver contacts.

Dear all,

Garmin Germany responded and sent me the replacement kit for both pedals. Super efficient and pro. The kits have been dispatched on an evening, and the next morning I got them. Apparently they have been shipped 200km away from me.

Thanks GARMIN Deutschland for taking care of the issue in such a swift manner!!!

I've now had 3 pairs with exactly the same issue in as many months. Mine have all been on the right pedal. There is obviously a continuing issue that Garmin are having here with the design and they are failing to deal with it but still happily selling the product to an unsuspecting public.

As well as tyre levers and a pump I now have to carry baby oil and a toothpick in case I need to change the batteries mid ride. It is a joke Garmin.

Happend to me just today. Right pedal body, same issue. E-mailed support of garmin germany - let´s see what they will say.. very disappointed.

Had same problem on my right pedal having completed 15 rides. Both ends broken off.

I’m not liking what could become a new trend.

Update : support sent a new replacement for both pedals only wanting the "old" ones to be returned. Quick and supportive handling. So at least thumps up for the support...
