Got my new V3. Outside riding coupled to FR935 and Edge 1030, all OK and stable. Both devices properly set to crank length 175. When I use Zwift, V3 are unusable as PM. Permanent Dropouts for my V3 and other ANT connected sensors. Zwiftalyser Shows permanent Signal losses and ANT recouplings. When I connect Elite Direto as PM instead V3, everything works great, no droputs, no Signal losses, also not for other devices.

Any idea why my V3 are Messing with the complete Laptop ANT Setup? ANT Receiver on USB exension, placed directly next to sensors.

Note that cycling dynamics must be enabled by the head unit at the start of each session.

For clarification, you are saying the Edge disables cycling dynamics when first connecting to the V3? Does the Edge not keep the CD option enabled on next boot?

  • Sorry for not making that clear.

The head unit retains its settings from session to session. The pedals have to boot up in 4 Hz, non-CD mode for backwards compatibility, every time they wake up. Then, when they are found by a head unit, the pedals and the head unit negotiate what the final transmission rate and CD settings are going to be. Older head units that do not support cycling dynamics will therefore see 4Hz transmissions by default.

What I was trying to clarify, is that if you want the pedals to transmit at 8 Hz when using Zwift, you need to have your head unit present for every session.

t_smit, still trying to figure out why Zwift only shows 4hz from the V3. I opened a thread in Zwift and people commented that I may have an incompatible USB ANT+ dongle?
I have this brand which is recommended directly from the thisisant.com website

    https://www.thisisant.com/developer/...ents/antusb-m/

This is the Zwift thread that I opened: https://support.zwift.com/hc/en-us/c...t_360001246652

Do you have any thoughts why this is happening? Can some other Zwift and V3 users share their zwift log files or tell if the V3 transmits at 8hz to Zwift?

Also I want to add when I am in the "add sensor" part of Zwift, I only see one Vector 3 option as a power source and it is listed as: "GARMIN PWR XXXXXX"

Anyone here do not mind sharing their Zwift Log files? I am still trying to figure out my Zwift dropouts and why it is only transmitting at 4hz to Zwift.
Filed a ticket with Zwift and they say it may be my ANT+ stick that is preventing the V3 to transmit at 8hz but I want to make sure this is only happening to me before shelling out
    $25 for a new ANT+ stick.

not sure how many time i have to write before someone replies.
So I just shelled out $25 bucks to buy the Garmin ANT+ brand usb stick and the result is the same! The rate of transfer is still 4hz with occasional drop outs.
    Can Garmin please reply?
  • Have you tried pairing to Zwift using the ble channel? That will avoid ant config issues between your edge or watch, and Zwift.

This is still an issue btw. What if my head unit isn't garmin? Can i turn on cycling dynamics in another way?

  • you disabled autostart of Garmin Express on your Laptop? if started, ended the Service of Garmin Express?

Express have their own ANT+ drivers and they disturb when you want to use ANT+ with other software!
