RCT715 - High Pitch Squealing

I have two RCT715 units doing this when powered on. The other threads on this are closed/expired, so I'm asking in a new thread.

Was this an issue resolved in later model RCT715 devices? Has anyone who has purchased one in the last few months experienced this issue?

This is an issue for me and my workflow given the Varia app still won't allow downloading of footage direct. Thanks for confirming your unit also does this.

If your unit won't allow downloading the footage then something is wrong with the device you trying ? But still i can't understand what is your problem. the high pitch squealing or the denied of the downloading?

I have a Varia RCT715 v5.10 but an Edge 1030+ and there is no squealing when I'm alerted to approaching traffic. Could the sound be as a result of your head unit rather than the Varia?

I agree the Varia app is terrible, I always plug my Varia directly into the laptop to download footage, that works fine.

It's the RCT. Apparently a known issue.

Ok but does it happen across different head units? Definitely no squealing on my setup (firmware below for reference)

It's the RCT. 100%. Happens when it's not connected to any head unit. Great to know yours doesn't do it. I guess they resolved it in later hardware builds (Which I suspected but never got any answers on).

The squealing you mention is normal. I check it on 4 units.

My unit also does this. And, even after swapping to a A2 128gb card, it is still very slow. So it is a controller issue, since removing the card and connect to computer is much faster.
