Unable to pair to iPhone

Just received the 715. My Edge 1040 paired without issue, and tells me there is a firmware update using the app. No matter what I do I can not get it to pair with my iphone. I have a 515 that pairs to the phone without issue.

updated the firmware via Garmin Express. I still don't like the fact I can't pair it to my phone.
