Battery level device off 100% when on its 89%

Hello

I have a question about my Garmin edge Explorer, when i charge it when the device is off (so also not in sleep mode) the display states that the battery is 100% charged.

When i then turn on the device (charger cable out) it states that the battery level is only 89%???

I am charging with the provided USB cable

Anyone knows why this difference is shown? or do i have to let it charge longer even if its indicating 100%

Maybe the battery level indicator needs recalibration?

as bikepc01 mentioned you can try a battery calibration by letting the battery drain fully and then re-charging. Also please ensure that you are charging it a direct port and not a USB splitter/hub.

I have been teached that a full reset of the device, directly after the battery has been drained completely and the device is connected to an external dedicated charger, is the clue in the recalibration procedure. This to learn the device the new zero-level. Also let the device a few hours on the charger after reaching 100% battery level.
A small payload of the full reset is that all settings have to be re- entered.
