Grade reading is completely wrong.

I recently got a Garmin Edge Explore. The grade percentage is always way off. I'm going up a slight hill and it is giving me negative numbers fluctuating -4, -12, -6, etc. at one point it jumped to 24% Is there some sort of calibration that need to be done?

There is no calibration. The reason for your issue is that the edge explore lacks a barometric altimeter, therefore all grade calculation is done based on GPS altitude, and this is notoriously unstable.

Odd that the grade worked fine for a few months and only started going crazy a week ago. I did see threads here where several Edge models were experiencing the same problem.

So maybe a GPS (signal?) issue and not Edge model related?

Wouldn't that affect all the Garmins using GPS signal? I was riding with several people and multiple models of Garmins. Mine was the only one where the grade was always wrong.

Perhaps yours was the only one without barometric altimeter.
