With the new software version 7.09 the Edge Explore 2 now has startup.txt support, so you can have device ownership, contact information, etc. displayed at startup.
Edit 2023-01-05: It appears that the the choice between 'Smart' or 'Once per second' has been removed from the System menu. Once per second now is the built-in default.
The Changelog should read: Updated data recording mode to once per second, similar to the Edge 1040 v15.23 changelog.
Opinions if this is an improvement or not are diverse...
