Incorrect oneway implementation/map

It seems that the route track creation is allowing to drive agains oneway streets. This is despite the fact that this completely legal for the waste majorty of oneway sections in Vienna.

This bug makes track editing close to impossible in Vienna and probably a lot other cities.

  • Thank you for your confirmation and help.

I could get at least navigation working by installing openFietsMap. Is there any disadvantage beside loosing most of the free memory?

I also wonder how this is working, as now multiple maps are activated in parallel.

Is there a way to use a correct map in the GarminConnect Android or web app for route creation?

    Thanks again.

  • Besides the Garmin Cycle Map EU 2021.20 I have two versions of the OFM Benelux on my EE2 and still have 2.3 Gb free storage. No disadvantages met or heard about that ever.

You should prevent to have multiple maps activated in parallel. In the Profile / Navigation / Map / Map Information settings disable ALL Garmin maps, except the INTL Standard Basemap, NR. I'm not sure if the OFM EU contains elevation data, but if you are missing those, you can enable the Garmin DEM Map EU 2020.10 beside the OFM without harm because the DEM map does no routing.

In regard to Android route creation, either using GC Android or a (web)App, I cannot help you - no experience with those.
Two Apps I have heard off are OSMand and Orux Maps of which the latter supports OFM .img maps natively as far I've understood. Details on the OFM website.
Maybe using Brouter.web via the webbrowser on your smartphone will work too?

  • If you worry about loosing too much free memory, you can also extract a small(er) map area from  https://extract.bbbike.org/ .  Choose from the Latin1 versions. OpenFietsMap Lite is the most compact version, but misses terrain and buildings details, but all roads and paths are available.
