NO POWER/CADENCE DATA AFTER UPDATE

After the most recent update. Power reads as zero as well as no cadence information. It shows on Zwift and Wahoo applications. I've removed and added the Powerlink pedals sensor to Garmin-calibrated...still the same issue. Why Garmin after an update? Is there a fix...another update? Frustrated.

  • I'm also having trouble with power data being received by my Edge 840 after the update to version 25.25.

The Edge 840 is connected through ANT+ to a Wahoo Kickr Core trainer. I was riding in ERG mode following a workout created in Training Peaks then synced to the 840 (a setup I've used without issue many times before). The Edge 840 recorded frequent drops in the power and cadence signal without a change in the resistance from the trainer (I confirmed this using the Wahoo app on my phone, which was continuously recording the signals). The 840 was also not changing the trainer resistance to follow the workout steps as it has previously.

Before this test I reset the Edge 840 to factory settings, removed all sensors, and then resynced them.

You have permission to view the .fit file on my account (December 17, 2024 12:48P).

  • Have you tried cold booting your Edge? By holding the power button until it turned off and turning it back on again fixed my zero power issue. Cadence was working for me so maybe my problem was different.

  • While in the middle of the activity 0 power shows on the Gadmin Edge (e.g., 3 second average). However, while using Zwift and/or Wahoo in the middle of an activity, it shows current power live…like Zwift/Wahoo are communicating with Powerlink pedals and Garmin Edge is no longer doing the same  with the Powerlink pedals after the update. Will try your suggestion, though. Long-Holding the power like a hard reboot. Through the hour long process and initially before with tech support, that is not something tried. Thanks!

  • Yes, thanks. Cold/hard reboot with no change. I also reset the 840 to factory settings, which deleted the activity profiles and disconnected all sensors before resyncing them..

  • I will work on it after return from work. It looks like someone included their .fit file to help in the meantime. Thanks

  • Thanks for sharing with them to help with this issue

  • Doh! That’s not good. I will still try when I get back. Again thanks for sharing your file to help.

  •  There are 2 activities that I submitted to<supportforms.garmin.com/.../> and inserted here. The first with Powerlink pedals via BT and the other via ANT+ . The power information looks like is registering with ANT+ but still not BT. I hope this helps.

  • Thank you for participating in this thread, but what you are seeing is different from this original report. Looking at the ride you mentioned, I can also see your Trainer dropping out intermittently throughout this ride. As this was paired via ANT+ and your HRM was as well, this file points to needing to troubleshoot the trainer. When an Edge is the cause for the dropouts, all sensors on that connection type would drop at once.

I would recommend removing the connection to this Trainer completely from your Edge before pairing it again as if it were new before testing again.

  • Thank you for uploading that info, there is no need to post that here. Feel free to edit your post to remove this if you do not wish for the community to have access to that download.

I am reviewing the information now and will report back in this thread if we are able to determine if the Edge or the Pedals are the cause for this. Thank you again for the cooperation in uploading more information for us.
