I have not gotten a refurbed 830, but I have for a number of previous version Edges. In my experience, refurbs are indistinguishable from new. If you're replacing a unit that has a physical failure (electrical, mechanical, broken/scratched screen, etc), then a refurb will rectify that. In a few cases, I suspected that the refurb might have had updated hardware based on how the unit seemed to behave, but IDK that for a fact.

I agree, and possibly even better than new as they have undergone testing related to known issues. I've had 3 refurbs over the past 15 years and have always been pleased.
