Is your Edge 830 temperature showing correctly?

My Edge 830 regularly records approx 5-10C higher than actual ambient temperature, and it increases slowly if the Edge isn't moving. So I guess this is reading the internal temp of the Edge rather than ambient temp?

Since a number of metrics are based on this, including it seems e.g. smart alerts for hydration, these tend to be way off. Today a not very taxing 20-mile ride in max 16C weather was recorded on the Edge as mostly in the low 20s, and suggested  2,134 ml  fluid loss, which seems excessive. 1 x 750ml bottle was fine instead of the recommended almost 3 bottles.

    This is the manual talking about temperature readings:

    The divoice may display temperature readings that are higher than the actual air temperature if the device is placed in direct sunlight, held in your hand, or is charging with an external battery pack. Also, the device will take some time to adjust to significant changes in temperature.

    Where are you seeing that GARMIN says that temperature showed is the internal temperature? 

    For what want anyone internal temperature readings?You are repeting all the time the same . I told you that I compared the readings with three meteorological stations at home and all three gives me the same readings and Garmin give me readings 4° Celsius higher.Garmin edge don't give higher temperature for been in direct sunn. Inside home give this wrong temperatures.

    Garmin edge don't has to give the functions that you say that are important. Garmin edge has to give good the functions that are in the manual . If not is a expensive big swindle

    Yes, I was meaning the temperature number in the header next to the time.  As to the weather functionality, I would guess there are only a certain number of weather stations used and GCM just uses the closest to you.  This would always carry a risk of you not being very near the closest one.
