Installation Instructions

  1. Connect your Edge 820 to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Download and unzip Edge820_1224Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  3. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the Edge, and wait for the update to finish.
  4. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, follow the above steps but place the GUPDATE-1210.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder. Rename the file to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
  • 1. Still no fix for battery drain. 6.5 hour is now the maximum duration for my outside rides

    2. Still no fix for course & strava segment virtual race...

Hopefully i still have a garmin 810 working. Next month (if not cancelled with coronavirus) I will race the "GARMIN Titan Race" in Morocco: I will likely use my 810: I will miss some garmin IQ, but at least i will have enough battery to end up and record the stages.

Oh yes of course it is my fault, not yours: If I was better fit i could certainly end all stages in less than 6 hours....

No thanks I won't test that Beta

  • downgrade to 11.2 and the battery live will be good again. I downgrade yesterday from 12.1 to 11.2 and now I get over 12 hours instead of 4

  • Worked perfectly on tonight's gravel ride. Relatively short ride, but with lots of connected units (varia light, tail light, di2, HRM and Cadence. Data looks good.
