Edge 810 freeze - ride lost

So i had to turn off and on the device during a ride and it stucked at "Loading Maps".

Turned off/on again and the ride, went gone...usually it goes on with the ride paused.

I looked at the file Activities and the ride it's not there.

I think the ride it's in a .bak file of that day, but every attempt to turn that file into a .fit file failed miserably.

can anyone help?

most likely the .bak file does not contain ride data

scan your device with a recovery tool

but, with your consent we can have a look at your file

zip the file and upload here in the forum, or provide a link to it on a cloud storage

    happy biking

  • Files.rar

    There's 2 files in it.

one is the .bak file and the other is .fit file i recover with a program, and matches the time i started the ride, but i fail all the time when i try to upload it to garmin or strava.

did you take  a 1.5 hour brake ?

there is recorded data in the files

files have no headers that contain information which data is recorded and at which position in a data records

the data records in your files are 44 bytes long

    possible solution

one could use the header from a previous ride with the same bike setup

    or

you could record a new fit file with the same bike setup for a few minutes

I would prefer both, a previous and a new file.

    happy biking

sorry to say, but the dates in your first two files (FIT and BAK) are from june 14 until june 15

is this possible you did a ride on june 14 until june 15 ?

there is no data in those two files from june 21

    sorry

test data : 9 gps coordinates at start and end of the files

  • On that period i was on rest. i have rides on 11 and 16 only.

On those dates i was probably sleeping lol.

The .fit file name match the date and time i start riding that day, but it must be corrupt with no repair...

how long was that ride suppost to be ?

    happy biking
