Accidentally Deleted My gmapbmap.img file

Hi Folks,

I accidentally deleted my ASIA gmapbmap.img file for EDGE 820 from the Garmin directory. How can I get it back? Tried the open street map but its not working well. Want to go back to the default base map. Can some one share the ASIA base map image or point me to the right place? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Alan,

Need one more advice, now I have two maps 1. Open Street fiet_lite (Routable) Southeast Asia 2. Garmin Base Map (which you shared), Should I enable both of them in my device?
Open street map has got much more detail when compare with the base map. How do you manage both?

The basemap isn't useful for navigation (basemaps don't have enough detail).

It seems a bit odd that the basemap is indicated as being routable.

I suspect that, if there is a detailed routable map, the routable basemap isn't used for routing.

You don't really need the basemap. Though, it is useful for low (large scale) zoom levels or for regions that the installed detailed maps doesn't cover.
