Edge 820 after last update .System is deleted...

Hello, after some problems connecting the Edge 820 to the pc because it was not recognized, it updated the maps and firmware to the latest version.

After finishing I turned on the same and never went past the screen "Loading Profiles" already tried the Hard Reset, and the normal several times without success, is not even recognized in Garmim Espress, and don`t passe "Loading Profiles"

From what looks like folders and files, the .System folder has disappeared.

Before going to warranty, I would like to try replace the folders and try again the hard reset.

Could someone give me the folder .System complet, because I think the problem may be this folder...

Sory bad English ...

Best Regards, Manuel
  • I'd contact the support centre. They'll probably email you the system folder or whatever is necessary to get it working again. I find them very helpful.
The chat line is often the quickest way of contacting them.

  • Thanks for the reply Nick, I already talked about Garmim Support but they could not solve ...

The store offered the return until tomorrow afternoon, so I can only test today and tomorrow morning. For otherwise I lose the offer.

However if somebody could make this folder available. System still made a few attempts.
  • You could try re-formatting the device. Once reformatted the Edge should rebuild the file system when it starts up after being disconnected from the PC.

Backup what you can off the Edge to the PC and then use the Windows format option. Uncheck the quick format option and use FAT32.
  • I have done this several times, it did not work, I already followed the indications of identical problems that are found here in the forum, did not solve. The idea was to restore the backup, that may have damaged files and I do not know...and restore the missing .system folder.

    Thank you aweatherall
  • Send me a private message with your email address. I might have something you can try.
  • Thanks a lot for the help, but it has no solution, it is not recognized as Usb mass storage, it does not recognize in Windows 10 or Seven.

    Back for warranty.
