how did you go? also in australia
Spoke to customer service and they offered up a refurb replacement for $110 since its out of warranty. I'd have to send mine in then they'd send a replacement (turn around time of 10-14 days). I've never been so disappointed with a purchase. I could understand them not wanting to replace if I had cracked the screen or abused it, but its in good condition still. I'm gonna ride it out then just buy a Wahoo.
I'm not sure what was worse, the halo on the 820 or the customer service rep not knowing about such a widely documented phenomonen.
I was none-the-less offered a refurb 820 for £100 or so.
