Gradient lag on 820

820 seems to the lag on gradient changes anybody else notice this, Hopefully improved with a firmware update soon.

Other than very slow course reading/setup, i have had no other issues.

I find response to elevation changes slower than my 810, and it probably reads slightly lower too (but not by a huge amount).

Yep, it's the same as the 520 for lag. I ran them next to each other. It's a feature, won't be fixed in firmware updates. My old 510 was much better for reading gradient.

I recently acquired an 820 and sold my 500 to a friend. worst decision i ever made and I want the Edge 500 back. :(
gradient and battery life issues. touch screen issues.

the gradient lag is terrible and the gradient is so inaccurate to make it almost unusable.

next to each other, the edge 500 read a gradient of 2.5%, which seemed correct, my 820 kept fluctuating between 0.5% and 1.8%.
i realise that is a low gradients but still it should be better than that.

when i get it out to some mountains where i really want to know the grade as I am going, I despair of being given accurate and precise information.
  • Still an issue with the latest FW (11), 3 years later. How exactly is this a "feature"? :(
