Heat acclimation not working, suggestions?

Do you get after a Ride a Screen on your 530 about heat acclimation? Because i get this on these warm days after a ride.

Also, did you try this? Or reboot your 530?

I get no such screen after a ride.

Rebooted many times...no effect.

I'll try setting location services to 'always' for the Connect app on the iPhone.......

Went for another hot (95F) ride today. I set location services to 'always' for the Connect app on my iPhone, but this made no difference. Still see Heat Acclimation = 0 in the Connect report for today's ride.

Any other ideas? .

I notice that I 'sometimes' see weather data on the Edge's Status page, like this:

But most of the time (like today's ride) this weather info on the Status page is missing. I assume this is coming from my iPhone somewhere. Is this coming from the Garmin Connect app on the iPhone? Of is it coming from some other weather app on my iPhone?

I see this in the 530 manual:

  NOTE: The heat acclimation feature is available only for GPS activities and requires weather data from your
connected smartphone.

So I'm guessing that this weather info on the Status page is what the Heat Acclaim needs to work. Since I don't often see it on the 530's Status page, this is why I am not getting heat acclaim data.

My questions are then:

- where does the 530 Status page get this weather info? Do I need to have a specific weather app running on the iPhone?

- why do I sometimes get this weather info on the Status page, and sometimes not? Bad connection between the 530 and the iPhone? Or?

I'll tell you what I believe, but I/m not sure I'm 100% correct.

1. I always get weather on my status page, and I always get the proper Heat Acclimation at the end of the activity, so I'm either successful with the below, or it is coincidence.
2. My location services is set to "Always".
3. I believe this is important, from what I've read:  The weather data for heat acclimation comes from whatever weather data is available when you start your ride. 
4. I believe the weather data comes directly from the Garmin Connect app, not through another app on your phone.
5. The weather data only refreshes every so many minutes (I think sometimes at least 5 minutes, if not more).  I often don't see the weather data when I first turn the unit on.
6. Based on this, I turn my Edge 530 on well in advance of starting the ride.  It is usually turned on, connected to the phone, and has GPS signal for at least 10 minutes before I hit "Start" to begin the ride.

If you don't have weather on the status screen, then I don't think you'll get credit for heat acclimation.  

I'm not sure I'm correct, this is just what I believe I remember from forum posts over the years.

To get heat acclimation the unit must be pained with a phone at the time of the ride as the Edge needs the humidity data from the weather service via GCM.

To aweatherall: does the 530 need to be paired with the phone at the beginning of the ride, or for the entire ride for heat acclaim to work? Thanks!

The whole ride

I will add, I think part of my success is that I always have the GC app open when I start the 530.  This ensures that I make sure it is connected and syncs via the "Garmin Devices" screen within the GC app.  If it stumbles, I shut down the GC app and try again, and I make sure I get a clean sync.  Then, I simply lock the screen, I do not close the GC app.
