Powermatch

If I connect a Wahoo Kickr Core trainer and pedals with power measurement, does the gramin 530 have a powermatch function? So that the power comes from the pedals?

  • I think it is not on 1st priority at Garmin (even they aquired the Tacx and now they have trainer section), the Wahoo had trainer sooner then head unit and they cant implement it into their Elemnt series... And the big companies always work with cost/profit ratio, so how much cost to implement it into an own CIQ app and how much is the plus profit with this extra feature and do they have programmer resource for it or not. I dont say it never will happen but not now for sure. maybe at next winter or later.

  • I apologize for any inconvenience it has caused you that the Edge series does not have power match. It sounds like there is a powermatch feature available directly with your Kickr, but that is not something that the Edge can control.

  • i tried garmin structured workout on edge 830 (6.20 firmware) on smart trainer with power meter attached. the garmin head unit / workout control smart trainer using power value from smart trainer not from power meter. if XERT IQ app can do that (powermatch) why garmin not adopt powermatch as feature on garmin head unit ? it will be nice feature

  • As noted previously, this feedback has been heard and I do apologize for any inconvenience this causes. There are currently no plans to add powermatch functionality to the Edge lineup.
