Rides uploading but segments and routes not syncing

Usually syncing my 530 uploads the ride and any starred segments and routes created.

Two days ago ago I started getting a 'sync failed' notification in Garmin Connect. The ride had been uploaded but no new segments.

This is also happening with a 520 I own.

I have done all the usual - removing devices, disabling/enabling Strava and even removed Garmin Connect and starting from scratch.

i am wondering if it's anything to do with my ancient iphone 5s!

Any help is welcome!

    I finally solved the problem by deleting most of the saved routes from the device. New routes synchronise well from strava, komoot and garmin connect. For old routes, I can tap "Send to device" on garmin connect on my phone.
