Please add ability to modify the pitch (and volume) of the tones

Many of the tones such as off course and turn notification are too high for me to hear. Some of the other tones like GPS Signal lost are about as high as I can hear. I know folks have the same trouble with the wearables but at least there you can enable vibration for notification. That isn't an option for the Edge units. Please add an option so we can modify the pitch of the tones. It might also be useful to be able to pick a volume as well. Especially on windy days in the winter when your ears are covered, it can be hard to hear.

    I disagree. Using the phone as an audio output device uses a lot less power than using the phone for navigation, especially if you want the screen on. I primary use my Garmin device for navigation, I'm not interested all that much in the training aspects. I use it rather than my phone so that my phone can serve as my backup device. I'm not suggesting that the tones shouldn't be adjusted so that folks with hearing loss can adapt them to their needs, just that using the phone for audio prompts doesn't defeat the purpose of using the Garmin.

    With all due respect, I believe these devices are used primarily for training purposes. The nav. option is something that's been added on in more recent years.

    Have you considered using a phone mount for your handlebars? IMHO, that would be the way to go if navigation was my primary concern.

    I don't understand why this enhancement still has not been made. We know the unit can make different noises, but all of the notifications coming from a phone or other alerts (e.g. drink alert) all make the same sound. A simple change to allow you to pick the notification sound from a predefined list would be a simple enhancement that would make a big difference. You would know that this sound is a drink alert - I don't need to look down, this sound is a message notification - I do need to look down.

    I think we need more than a pitch change - i'm not gonna hear it over the trucks and traffic and wind.

    It'll be good if it can play a tune - like 'Jingle Bells' for drink reminder. 'Happy birthday' for food.  i wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the function...i think i just gave them an idea to sell the new 530 Edge Plus.

    And if it can connect via blue tooth to a soundbar - like the portable battery powered speakers then it'll be louder still.
