CycleOps / Saris PRO 400 trainer not detected

Hi,

I use an old Cycle Ops indoor bike which is equipped with a Powertap power meter.

Unfortunately it is not detected by my edge 530.

It uses ANT+ protocol and I'm using it without problem with Rouvy on my phone (cadence speed and power + resistance control).

Don't see why I cannot pair it with the edge ?

Is this a protocol issue or the fact that the trainer needs to be in a garmin database to work ?

I think the CycleOps Pro 400 doesn't use standard ANT+ protocols which that is why you can't pair it to your Edge.

It is marked and described as ANT+ like today powertaps sensors.

My phone and the Rouvy App perfectly handle the trainer using ANT+. So why can't my Garmin do the same ?

I found a post of the Zwift team telling a proprietary channel is used by the cycle ops trainer.

Maybe some development is needed to expand the compatibility.

Hope Garmin will be able to do something to make these old but great trainers be compatible with edge series ;)
