Had no problem pairing everything but my Kickr. I go to trainer and it won't find it. Any suggestions? Have not tried to pair it as a power meter as I want it to be considered a trainer. Not a deal killer since I use trainerroad or zwift but thought it might be neat to pair.
So do I have to connect this everytime I ride? Also I purchased an ANT+ connection from Zwift can I use this or does this need to stay in my laptop for Zwift?
the ant+ for your laptop will be a USB device. it connects to your Garmin ant+ sensors and powermeter as well as the kickr (which us both ant+ and bluetooth). if you are using zwift, you don't really hav the need for for wahoo app on your phone. you would only need th ant+ adapter for your phone if you want to connect to your sensors with an app (strava, etc) when riding outdoors or if you plan to only use t wahoo app indoors to control your trainer.
Awesome but when riding outdoors my sensors connect to my Edge 520 and my fenix 3, are these ANT+?
Yes, Garmin computers/watches/sensors are ANT+ only. Your iPhone is Bluetooth only.
To use your ANT+ sensors with your iPhone, you have two options:
Buy the Wahoo ANT+ radio dongle (and the Apple 30-pin to Lightning connector if you have an iPhone 5 or newer.)
Buy new dual ANT+/Bluetooth sensors which transmit both protocols at the same time.
If you already have an expensive ANT+ only sensor such as a power meter (Garmin Vector, Pioneer, Quarq) then the second choice isn't much of an option. That's why I only buy dual ANT+/Bluetooth sensors (which Garmin doesn't make.)
I'm willing to bet that the only reason they finally released the firmware now is because CycleOps just introduced their trainer to compete with the Kickr...the CycleOps Hammer.
On a side note, does anyone know if this new firmware will work for the Kickr Snap too...or is it exclusively for the Kickr?
