Sync Issues with Strava Segments

I just recently got an Edge 520, but I am having some serious sync issues. Everything works fine until I try and send the Strava segments to the device from the transfer queue in Garmin Connect. Once the download starts Garmin Express freezes and crashes my laptop. The device then will not sync via the bluetooth connection (it does connect to the phone, but will not transfer data). I get a "sync failed, server error" message on my phone. Only way I can correct the problem is by logging out of Strava connections in the Garmin connect widget, and forgetting the device in Garmin Express and starting over like it is a new device I am connecting for the first time.

Sure would be nice to have Strava live segments given this was the biggest selling feature for me.

Anyone else having these problems?
  • What version of Garmin Express do you have installed?

    There were some problems at the Strava end yesterday for some users that has now been fixed.

  • I would suggest doing the following.

    Close down Garmin Express.

    Delete all the existing log files that Garmin Express has generated.

    Go to C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Logs and delete all the files from the various subdirectories.

    Restart Garmin Express and try syncing again. After getting the error zip up everything below C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Logs and post it here and I will take a look and see what I can spot.

    Can't Sync On Mac

    Hi,

    Since adding Strava Segments to my GC Dashboard, can't sync my 520. Please help!

    I had the same problem and did find a way to go around the problem :)

    1: Deleted all my Strava syncs in Carmin Connect(manually clicked on 69 syncs an deleted them)
    2: Deleted all live segments on the Garmin 520.

    The syncing worked for me after that.

    WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? What language? It's surely not English.
