EDGE 520 Plus . Pathway calculation

Hi, I am new in the Garmin community. I have a Edge 520 plus for cycling. When I import a travel and start the travel, the GPS calculate the pathway during about 10 minutes for a only 12 km long travel. It seems quite long. I am living in Paris, so perhaps it's quite diffilcult to trap the satellite signal. Is there a way to optimize this calculation ? Thanks

Route calculation time has nothing to do with GPS. The Edge 520 is just that slow.

I think so. 10 minutes for a relatively short route seems somewhat extreme, but perhaps this is due to the fact, that Paris has a very dense road and bike path network, and that certainly has impact on route calculation time.

Actually, this issue has been subject to complaints for many garmin devices, and only the most recent models have seen improvements in that area.
