Show laps within lap?

Hi. I have a ride coming up that is a ride to the base of a mountain and then onwards to the top. I'd like to record the whole ride but want to be able to see on my Edge 520 Plus my current elapsed time for the climb AND the elapsed time between each switchback.

I know I could record it as two separate rides - start to the base of the climb as one ride and then start a new ride and press the lap button at each switchback and have my Garmin show me the total time and current lap time, but is it possible to record it all as one ride and still display the information I want?

There’s only one elapsed time associated with an activity, so I think you’ll need to do it as separate rides as you’ve proposed (unless you do the mental arithmetic on the fly)
