Garmin screen only with brightness after change

Hello,

I just changed the screen on my Garmin 520 after breaking it.

The problem is that the screen is on but doesn`t show anything.

I think the device is ok because it connects to PC and mobile phone by bluetooth. And I can use Garmin Express on pc to connect it.

Do you know what the problem may be?

Regards.

I revised the conector, and I think all is correct. Nothing seems broken.

sliding the cable into the connector it sits straight and not with an angle

pressing the latch this closes firmly over the complete connector

make sure the contacts on the cable were clean and not touched

missing a comparison picture between replacement and broken screen (connector side Slight smile)

I put straight the conector and the situation doesn't change.

This is the conector of the old screen:

In a few days I go to try it with other 520, a friend put his 520 in the washing machine.

It seems that we are having a bad luck streak in the group with the garmin ...

    thank you for the feedback

I know the bad luck streak, it really exists and passes Slight smile

let us hope your screen can get the washed 520 back to life

I put straight the conector and the situation doesn't change.

are the metal strips all clear on the connector, no plastic covering them except the power strips ?

are you sure you powered the 520 off, how do you know ?

The metal strips are fine, I check and none are cut or dirty.

To turn on / off the garmin, I use its cable, it has no battery at the moment. I have the motherboard and screen unarmed

    Hello,

    Problem solve.

With the garmin of my friend, the screen works correctly.

The problem was in my garmin's motherboard.

I was thinking in buy the Edge 530 because I thought that it hasn`t solution, but I put sticky tape in the back of conector to get that the conector stays tight and it worked.
