I updated my 520 to 12.30 firmware today, as part of the update there was also a 'GPS Firmware' update. This seems to have screwed my device, it no longer can get a GPS lock and every power power on after 30secs it says it is performing a GPS Firmware update (which runs for 10-20secs and goes directly from 0 to 100 before going back to the menu display). I have tried a Factory reset as well as downgrading the firmware back to 12.20 and upgrading again none of which have brought it back to life.... has anyone else had this issue?
Thanks, I checked the RemoteSW folder it is empty. I tried renaming the file in the GPS directory, but it still performs the GPS update on power on which creates another 'EPO.BIN', binary identical to the one I renamed.
No I used the factory reset option in the Settings menu. I have now tried the method above but its still the same, after setting the initial setting it starts the GPS Firmware update again and on every power up. I'm convinced the GPS firmware update has failed in some way and now its stuck. I may contact support on Monday or take it back to Halfords and whinge at them... 10 months of use without a problem other than my UT800 lamp disconnecting after 15mins of use....
Yes.... it's alive with GPS locked on. Worked a treat, it found the GPS software and counted up from 0 - 100 unlike before where it went straight from 0 to 100 after 5 secs.
