Navigation: Edge 500 vs 520

How does the Edge 520 compare to the Edge 500. I know you can load Open Street maps, so thats an improvement for sure. Is the cue sheet screen scrollable? On my Edge 500 it's not, so when a get to the turn it immediately disappears. If I'm off course I can't scroll back to figure out were I went wrong. The Edge 500 constantly gives false "off course" messages as well so you don't know if your really off course or not. And often the map disappears and is really slow to redraw. Does the Edge 520 of any of those issues? I should add I'm using Ride with GPS and tcx files of course.

Thanks
  • The cue sheet is scrollable but it only contains cues from the current position to the end of the course.
Spurious off course warnings are not much of a problem with the 520. Of course that can vary depending on terrain and tree cover. But, with glonass, the 520 tracking is better than the 500. The 520 shows the distance to the next cue entry along with the turn direction icon in the "Crs Pt Dist" data field. If I am correct in believing that the 500 doesn't, that is a very useful improvement
