Pairing speed and cadence sensors not ye installed on bike?

I have my Edge 520 and just received the speed and cadence sensors. Unfortunately my new bike won't be ready for another week. Can I pair these sensors with the 520 even though they aren't installed on the bike yet? I don't see why not, but thought I would ask first.

You can. Just rock the sensors back and forth a little to wake them up.

That was easy. Thanks for the advice about waking up the sensors. I didn't even need to take them out of the box.
