Syncing vo2max values to Garmin Connect

Should the vo2max value that is calculated after each ride be uploaded to Garmin Connect? After today's iOS update, I noticed that the vo2max shown was quite a bit lower than what my edge 520 shows. I haven't been able to find a way to manually sync the data... Has anyone else had this problem, and if so were you able to fix it?

Running vo2max does appear to be syncing as expected from my 920xt.
  • There were some GC fixes that were pushed out and one of the issue that was resolved was Vo2 Max not properly uploading to GC/GCM. Please reply post in this thread if you are not seeing your Vo2 Max correctly so that I can report it.

is that under Settings - Personal Information on GC?

You can go into your account settings you can enter a Vo2 Max number (among other things) and see what it is currently set to. You can also view Vo2 Max information in the Reports section of GC to see the trends over time. Click 3 line icon>Reports>Vo2 Max.
  • Great, now i can see my Vo2max boot from my Edge 520 and my 920xt. Good Job Garmin!

Actually i´m in southern France on my holidays.... During the last 2 weeks i had several rides (with power and heartrate) - the rides differ in length and intensity... BUT the VO2max is on the same level then before ... nothing is updated on the Edge.. Someone with the same behavior?

I can see that the VO2Max for yesterday's ride does appear on Garmin Connect now. However, on Garmin Connect Mobile, VO2Max is still completely absent from my performance stats. I only see FTP. I get the feeling it depends on the kind of device you have. With just the Edge 520, all you'll see there is FTP.

You may try logging out and then back into the app or clearing the app cache on your phone. This is something that was reported to us a little while back but signing out and then back in resolved it for users.

    Do some quality assurance Garmin!

If you can call taking 4 months to fix a bug that they themselves introduced last year a good job. Actually it could be longer as I don't know when it was introduced, just that some post had mentioned December '15. Certainly it has never worked for me since I got my Fenix 3 at end Dec '15.

For me a good job would be if they were to follow some basic QA principles and be able to add new features without breaking things they have already implemented.

Since the GC Mobile Android bluetooth lock-up + severe battery drain bug is now more than 3 months old, maybe we can expect a fix for that next month?

Thanks for the reply! Sadly, this did not resolve my issue.

I first tried logging out of Garmin Connect Mobile (on my iPhone 6s running iOS 9.3.1), and then logging back in. I still only see FTP in Performance Stats.

Then I tried logging out, deleting the app, and redownloading it (I assume this also has the side effect of clearing out the app cache for this particular app), and then logging back in, and I still only see FTP. No VO2Max.

vo2 max doesn't appear on Garmin Connect

I wouldn't know that this stat exists if it didn't flash "new record" a couple of times on recent ride. Strange that it can't be recovered from Garmin Connect...
  • Where are looking in Garmin Connect for the VO2 value? It is available only as a report.
